How to View Hidden Files and Folders in Windows Vista?

Vista No Comments »

View hidden files and folders in Windows Vista is not much different from Windows XP if you know how to do it. The following is the screenshot of the Windows Explorer running on Windows Vista. what we did in the past is, click Tools from the menus, then change the settings in Folder Options, but the menus aren’t there anymore.

Here are the instructions, you are only few steps away. Click Start (the round icon) from the bottom left corner, select Control Panel, click Folder Options, the following window will open, then click the View tab, check Show hidden files and folders, uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) if you want to see the system files as well.

Check Always show menus, it will bring the traditional interface back. I believe Microsoft did this on purpose which prevent the regular users (including you :) ) from messing up the system.
